The Position
The Food Technologist is a passionate and dedicated individual with a proven track record within the food manufacturing industry. You are a tinkerer, eternally inquisitive and back yourself with actions.
You will be deeply involved in the quality, innovation, food safety, integrity, ethical and sustainability credentials of our products and work with colleagues to continuously learn and improve our product range.
What you'll do in this role :
- Bench testing of new and updated products
- Assisting in full-scale trials of new products, ingredients and processes
- Participating in sensory testing and texture profile testing of products
- Development of new product ideas, formulations and procedures
- Modify and improve existing recipes on bench testing
- Assisting in full-scale trials of new products, ingredients and processes
- Participating in sensory testing and texture profile testing of products
- Prototype development
- Getting new equipment and new ingredients for bench trials
- Build and deliver research and innovation plans
What we are looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Chemistry or Materials Engineering
- Experience in the food industry and working with plant-based proteins with proven capabilities within a technical or similar.
- Epic problem solver, 'can do' attitude, obsessive about product improvement and have experience of identifying issues and problem solving in a technical setting.
- Confident and articulate with analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and implement improvements in a timely manner
- Enthusiastic, dynamic, agile and proactive candidate
- Strong project management skills
- Proactive and self-starter who can work independently with good decision-making skills
